Momenta is pleased to announce the appointment of Lee Carter, as a Principal in our Ventures team. Lee is a venture and startup professional with experience investing in remote connectivity, distributed energy, mobile payments, and blockchain technology.
He is the founder of Elysian Ventures, who help blockchain projects accelerate community development through smart incentive design and building Ecosystem Funds. He was most recently Principal at Reflective Ventures where he was responsible for full-lifecycle investing in early stage blockchain companies.
Lee was formerly the Director of Finance & HR at Geli, a Momenta Partners portfolio company providing software and business solutions to design, automate, and manage energy storage systems. Geli’s suite of products creates an ecosystem where project developers, OEMs, financiers, and project operators can deploy advanced energy projects using a seamless hardware-agnostic software platform.
Prior to that Lee was Lead Financial Analyst at Invested Development, a venture fund investing in decentralized energy and remote connectivity in emerging markets. Having experienced both sides of the table, Lee has a unique view on planning for the financial success of early stage technology companies.

Lee has a B.A. in Mathematical Economics from Colorado College, and enjoys backcountry skiing, hiking, Virginia sports and Ultimate Frisbee.
